Mechanical Installation and Integration Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design, installation and commissioning of equipment used for graphite processing in pilot-scale and demo plant facilities. Experience with material handling, comminution equipment, hydrometallurgical processing, pyrometallurgical processing and gas treatment systems would be desirable but is not required. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including process engineers, chemists, technical specialists and tradespersons, and will provide ongoing support to optimize performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
-
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to review equipment packages and specifications from external suppliers, and develop peripheral systems and plans required for installation and integration of new equipment in pilot-scale and demo plant facilities.
- Ensure newly installed equipment meets performance specifications as well as all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Specify materials and components suitable for hydrometallurgy or pyrometallurgy environments, considering factors such as thermal expansion, corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, health & safety, environmental risks, and product quality and consistency.
- Work closely with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to procure components and ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Lead or support installation and commissioning activities at company or customer sites, including mechanical assembly, alignment, and calibration.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and operation, and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with R&D, production and customers to understand their specific requirements and provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to documentation and training materials for customers and internal teams.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in relation to mineral processing.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
– Proven experience (5-10 years) in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the design and installation of industrial furnaces.
– Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA analysis tools.
– Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Location:
Flexible but Kingston ON or Montreal QC preferred; this is a hybrid work position with some remote work permitted.

Hydrometallurgist
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hydrometallurgist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy, chemistry, and engineering principles, with a focus on hydrometallurgical processes. They will be responsible for developing and optimizing hydrometallurgical processes to extract metals/minerals from ores, concentrates, and recycled materials.
Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and optimize hydrometallurgical processes for the extraction and recovery of materials from various sources, including ores, concentrates, and recycled streams.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot-scale tests to evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of hydrometallurgical processes.

- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Modeler with expertise in mining and metallurgy to join our team. As a Process Modeler, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing process models to improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in mining and metallurgical operations.

- Proficiency/experience with at least one process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, SysCAD or similar tools is essential.
